Statistics continuously tell us that recognition and awards programs are vital to employee engagement, productivity, and loyalty.  Here’s another interesting fact:

58% of employees asked leaders to “give recognition” when asked how to improve engagement. (Psychometrics)

Recognition incorporates many difference aspects. Here are a few to consider:

Be Thoughtful – Give items that have meaning or fit the personality of the recipient. And give them personally with words of gratitude.

Celebrate – …often! Make a big deal out of completed projects, signed contracts and/or new business. Build a culture of celebration to make everyone feel appreciated and part of the successes.

Be Grateful – Show gratitude in day-to-day activities. Maintaining a culture of happiness has to be a daily activity. Impromptu appreciation adds fun to the workdays.

44% of employees switch jobs because of not getting adequate recognition for their efforts. (Achievers)

Build Award Programs for Everyone – Set up awards programs with more than just financial achievements. Not everyone has the opportunity to reach financial goals, so set up award programs that can recognize employees at all levels.

There’s not much more we can say. When we look at the statistics, we know that employee recognition and award programs are the right thing to do!

79% of millennials surveyed said an increase in rewards would make them more loyal to their employer. (SHRM)

A well-designed recognition program can help drive an 11.1% increase in average employee performance. (Gartner)

With today’s endless award and gift options, it’s easy to build a recognition program for your team.
